Alton Carter is the Director of Youth Ministries at First United Methodist Church in Stillwater Oklahoma. He is the Author of “The Boy Who Carried Bricks” and “Aging Out” which are books about his life journey from foster care through adulthood. His latest book titled “The Boy Who Dreamed Big is the story of how a foster child was inspired by his elementary school teacher to use his imagination to overcome his obstacles   Alton received his Bachelor’s Degree at Oklahoma State University, and is using his story to inspire youth and adults to do all they can to “make the world a better place.” He makes his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma with his wife Kristin and his two sons Kelton and Colin.

Steve Aguirre

Skills are important, but mindset is the true differentiator and key to success. In this highly interactive session participants will breakthrough what stands between you and your goals.

Reconnect with your peers for a closing session and small group discussion on topics important to your success. Attendees have a chance to score BIG prizes and tickets to the Appreciation Happy Hour.

Steve is a senior consultant in New York. He inspires people and drives business performance through strong leadership, mindset and behavioral change.

Steve holds a B.S. in buiness from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in Finance and Management. He's also a CFA Charter holder.

Clients who've worked with Steve include Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan Chase, Deloite, NBC Universal, Pepsi Co, and Ralph Lauren.

 

$500 First-time Attendee Scholarships

The Big “I” National Young Agents Committee will be presenting scholarships for select first-time attendees of the Big “I” Young Agents Leadership Institute. Scholarships are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Supplies are limited.

Young Agents

Please return your completed Young Agents Leadership Institute Scholarship Application and brief essay to your state association to be considered for a scholarship. It is up to the discretion of the state association to submit an application to the national Young Agents Committee.
 

State Executives

The deadline is August 1, 2017 or when the fund is depleted, whichever comes first. Please submit only one application for nomination for the $500 first-time attendee scholarships to youngagents@iiaba.net . Because the scholarships are first-come first-serve, it’s recommended you apply early. Once funds are depleted, no more scholarships will be presented. Applicants must be first-time agent attendees. The scholarship funds will be distributed to the state association after the event.
 

$1000 State Attendance Award

A $1000 scholarship will be presented to the state young agents committee who has the most young agents in attendance at the Big “I” Fall Leadership Institute. Only registrations made by Aug. 15 will be considered in the tally. The winner will be announced at the Big “I” Young Agents Leadership Presidents’ Panel. No other paperwork needs to be submitted.
