Big ‘I’ Agents Rev Up for Day on Capitol Hill

The 2014 Big “I” “Where We Stand on Legislative Issues” brochure is now available to download online. Hard copies will also be distributed at the annual Legislative Conference April 9-11.

The brochure provides background on the association’s top federal legislative priorities and is a helpful resource as agents prepare to embark to Capitol Hill on Thursday, April 10. Agents can share it with Congressional offices when they lobby members of the Senate, House and their staffs on issues that directly impact the independent agency system and the consumers they serve.

This year’s brochure discusses agent licensing reform, terrorism insurance, tax reform, insurance regulation, health care, crop insurance, InsurPac and the Big “I” grassroots program.

Big “I” members who are still interested in setting up appointments with their Congressional representatives are encouraged to contact their state association staff or Katherine Douglas, Big “I” manager of political affairs and grassroots, at 202-863-7000.

It is important for each state to have a strong presence at the annual conference and for every member of Congress to receive a visit from a Big “I” member. Online registration ends tomorrow, March 28. Onsite registration will also be available. Find more information on the event page.
