With more than 17,000 pages of content, it's easy to miss what's new at the Big "I" Virtual University (VU).
Visit the VU online for the latest insurance education resources, including publications, white papers and the popular Ask an Expert service. Here's a summary of the latest:
VU webinars. When you sign up for a VU webinar, you receive a link to participate, plus access to a recording and a copy of the transcript about three weeks after the live session. Register for one of the upcoming sessions, including Untangling the Work Comp Mess – When Employees and Their Families Sue, coming up on Wednesday, June 14. Continuing education credit is available in select states.
State-specific resources. The VU offers a page dedicated to checklists, charts, white papers and state-specific information. New content includes auto statutes by state, commission disclosure laws, condo laws by state, dog owner liability rules by state and personal auto policy education resources.
Support for new agency owners. Starting an agency from scratch is possible, but it can be very challenging. Visit the VU's "How to Start an Independent Agency" page for an outline of considerations, links and information provided by your state association.
VUpoint e-newsletter. The VU publishes a free biweekly e-newsletter that showcases the latest content, a succinct From the Editor column, links to the latest Ask an Expert briefs, and a rotation of articles on commercial lines, personal lines, agency management and more.
