The Big “I Legislative Conference was more than a meeting of the minds about insurance and legislation. It also provided the opportunity for Trusted Choice® and the Big “I” Young Agents Committee (YAC) to host the official send-off party for Make-A-Wish Kid Julia, which took place last Friday at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
During the event, Trusted Choice agents and staff welcomed Julia (pictured left with the Trusted Choice team), her parents, siblings and friends to a Little Mermaid-themed party to celebrate Julia’s wish to meet Ariel on her upcoming trip to Disney World. Wearing a pink dress and tiara, Julia was greeted by hundreds of agents who were excited to capture the priceless moment of her arrival.
In the weeks prior to the party, local children hand-crafted decorations for the room (pictured left), which was decked out with floating fish, bubbles, an eight-foot oyster and hundreds of blue balloons. Julia’s parents shared words of appreciation while Julia snacked on her favorite foods—cupcakes and apples with caramel.
“The Big “I” national Young Agents Committee really wanted a way to give back, and helping Julia and her family kick off their wish trip to Disney World was perfect for us,” says Quincy Branch, national YAC leader. “It was a humbling and heartwarming experience I will never forget. We hope to continue to support the Trusted Choice and Make-A-Wish partnership and look forward to seeing state YACs embrace this opportunity to help children with life-threatening illnesses in their hometowns.”
