LunchtimeCE InVEST is pleased to announce the addition of Web-based insurance courses to our list of curriculum services (available only in California at this time). If your InVEST students have access to the Internet, they can take one-hour online courses on a variety of insurance topics for free. Additionally, if you are interested in setting up an online Class Account to track your students' performance, an account can be provided for you. The online courses have been donated by LunchTimeCE, a leading online insurance continuing education (CE) provider on the West Coast. The courses have been approved for CE credit for insurance professionals and are based on quality content from Insurance Skills Center, the education arm of Insurance Brokers and Agents of the West (IBA West). NOTE: We are piloting the online course program only in California at this time. Our recommended course of action for classes that have access to the Internet: 1) Read the Teacher’s Guide to LunchTimeCE Services for details, including how to access the courses, which courses are recommended for InVEST students, etc. You should also download and review these PowerPoint presentations: Course Demo for Students and Teacher's Class Account Demo. 2) Try an online course and exam for yourself and decide—based on the needs of your students, on your class syllabus, etc.—how you would like to use an online course(s) in your class. 3) Decide if a Class Account is right for you and contact LunchTimeCE and they will set one up for you. 4) Present the Course Demo for Students presentation to your class and give them the assignment you have designed. 5) Contact InVEST to provide feedback and thoughts about how to use the online courses.
