The Best Practices Award of Excellence recognizes insurance companies for exceptional efforts in promoting and marketing Best Practices tools, seminars and philosophies throughout the year. The award is now open for entry, and the 2018 application can be downloaded here.
Recipients will receive their award from Bob Rusbuldt, Big "I" president & CEO, during the 2018 Big "I" Legislative Conference General Session Breakfast. In 2017, the Big “I" presented Best Practices Awards of Excellence recognition to Applied Systems, Inc., Central insurance Company, EMC Insurance Companies and Travelers.

Council for Best Practices Conducts Annual Meeting
On January 17-18, more than 15 insurance carrier partners, two industry vendors and two agent members attended the Council for Best Practices meeting in Palm Springs, California. Tom Doran from Reagan Consulting provided an update on planned enhancements to the study, including developments to ease the time commitment for agents to participate, a carrier update and idea exchange took place along with presentations from Big “I" agent development program managers. In addition, Ron Berg from the Agents Council for Technology discussed the Agency Cyber Guide and how to help protect customer data. The meeting minutes will be available in the next Big “I" Insider edition.
2018 Best Practices Study Update Planned for September
The 2017 research is available and the 2018 Update will be the final release in the three-year research cycle. A license agreement is available for any carrier that would like to distribute the research internally and to appointed agencies on an unlimited basis. The license agreement option will also be available for the 2018 report at the same rate. Stay tuned to Big “I" Insider for more information on the new study as the next agency nomination cycle begins in mid-2018.
Since 1993, the Big “I" and Reagan Consulting have partnered to produce the Best Practices Study, a comprehensive examination of the top performing agencies across the country. The study compiles benchmarking data on the key metrics of agency performance and value including revenue growth and profitability, financial stability, expense management, and sales and operations productivity.
