InsurPac Breaks All-Time Record

InsurPac, the Big “I" political action committee (PAC), raised more than  $200,000 in December alone to close out the most successful fundraising year in its 40-year history.

In 2017, the PAC raised a total of $1,111,564.52, topping last year's record by more than $40,000. Massachusetts led the charge for InsurPac with 266 donors giving a combined $73,053. Texas was close behind with $70,035 in contributions, followed by South Carolina, where a record number of contributors (364) collectively gave $57,473. Florida and Illinois also topped the $55,000 mark.

A record number of young agents (723) across the country contributed nearly $140,000, led by Florida's $15,285 and Georgia's $12,095.During the fundraising campaign, a record 11 states became InsurPac Eagle states by contributing an average of $100 or more per agency member: Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Carolina and South Dakota.

InsurPac remains one of the largest small business PACs in the country and is credited with making the Big “I" one of the most well-respected business associations in Washington.

But although the PAC raised more money than ever before in 2017, it must continue to raise the bar as other industry PACs enjoy similar growth. As a deluge of competing interest groups clamor for attention in Washington, D.C., PACs have never been more important for breaking through the noise.
