Privacy is a hot-button issue, and over time, scrutiny will only increase. From California to Europe, legislators are enacting new privacy-related laws and regulations at a dizzying pace.
In this climate, one of the most important components of an effective privacy compliance program is an agency's external-facing website privacy notice.
To help you with your compliance efforts, the Agents Council for Technology (ACT), in conjunction with the Big “I" Office of the General Counsel, has developed a sample website privacy notice.
As with other resources, agents will need to tailor this sample carefully to reflect the actual privacy policies and practices they have in place and to comply with any applicable specific state, federal or international privacy regulations.
