The face-to-face 2020 Big “I" Legislative Conference has been cancelled, and instead, we will be holding a Big “I" Virtual Legislative Conference.
All registration fees for the Legislative Conference will be refunded. While many are disappointed with the cancellation, we have planned a Big “I" Virtual Legislative Conference for the same dates of May 13-15.
All hotel reservations made within the Big “I" room block will automatically be cancelled and hotel guests will not need to handle this on their own. Contact Janis Mann for questions on hotel reservations or registration issues.
The Big “I" Virtual Legislative Conference will feature up-to-date recorded addresses by members of Congress; a staff briefing on legislative, regulatory and legal developments on COVID-19, such as business coverage, agency assistance and other important coronavirus issues for independent agents and agencies; and video messages from select insurance company executives.
The recipients of the Big “I" advocacy awards will also be announced virtually: the Legislator of the Year Award, the InsurPac awards, the Maurice Herndon Award, the Sydney O. Smith Award, the Barney Burns Award and the Dan Fulwider Award. The Woodworth Award and the Jeffrey Yates Award will be presented at the September meeting in Kansas City, Missouri, along with the membership growth awards and some additional information on the InsurPac awards.
We will be providing more information about accessing this event in the weeks ahead, so stay tuned to News & Views for updates.
The health and well-being of our members, state association and national Big “I" staff, and company partners are of utmost importance during these unprecedented times. Please be well and stay safe! We look forward to you joining us for the 2020 Big “I" Virtual Legislative Conference on May 13-15!
