| The Big “I" is proud to announce that Whitnee Dillard, Big “I" diversity and inclusion director, was awarded the 2021 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Industry Partner Award at the DEI: Expanding Opportunity in Insurance virtual conference, which took place March 16-17.  “Whitnee has been instrumental in developing and executing the DEI strategies for the Big 'I,'" said Richard Loconte, president and CEO of The Life Insurance Council of New York, who presented the award, adding that Dillard has “developed a strategic focus which is leading to intentional and purposeful action across the organization, nationally and locally."
Over the past year, Dillard has led the Big “I" Diversity Council in the development of professional development programs to further help Big “I" members navigate COVID-19 and the impacts of social unrest. Companies and individuals leading efforts to advance diversity and inclusion in the insurance industry were honored throughout the conference, hosted by the American Council of Life Insurers, the American Property Casualty Insurance Association and the Life Insurance Council of New York.
