Whether it was wildfires in Colorado, tornados and flooding in Kentucky or Hurricane Ian in Florida, the Trusted Choice® Relief Fund has been providing financial assistance to insurance industry personnel impacted by natural disasters throughout 2022.
At the time of publication, the Relief Fund has distributed $91,366 through 25 grants in 2022. Thanks to generous support from individual agents, agencies, 37 state associations and Big “I" carrier partners, there have been approximately $175,000 in pledges of donations this year.
In addition, the Relief Fund is well situated to respond to the needs of industry personnel thanks to the generous contributions from Progressive Insurance; Foremost, a Farmers Insurance Company, and Bristol West; and National General, an Allstate Company, in the wake of the pandemic.
Funds provide Big “I" state associations and member agencies and brokers with financial support for immediate or ongoing needs when other resources are not available, filling the gap until other funding sources become accessible. The fund also provides insurance agents with supplies and resources to aid victims and surviving family members in their communities.
Established by the IIAA Educational Foundation in 2007 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity, the fund distributes cash grants to victims and surviving family members of natural disasters. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
