| InsurPac, the Big “I” political action committee (PAC), raised approximately $1,060,000 during 2015—setting a new record for receipts in a calendar year and breaking the $1-million mark for not only the third consecutive year, but also the fourth time overall since its inception.
Nearly 4,000 independent agents and others joined forces to support InsurPac with personal, voluntary contributions. Big “I” membership has always prided itself on political engagement in every part of the country, and the widespread agent participation demonstrates this significant grassroots support.
In the upcoming election, InsurPac will seek to build upon the $1.8 million it distributed in the previous election cycle. The PAC will also aim to match or top the 93% congressional victory rate its recipients have historically achieved.
InsurPac distributes 100% of its voluntary agent contributions to federal campaigns and, as a result, has an impressive bipartisan track record in Congress and on the campaign trail. In disbursing contributions, InsurPac does not consider party affiliation but instead supports representatives, senators and candidates for federal office that have been advocates for and supportive of the independent agency system.
