Big ‘I’ Names Vice President for Federal Government Affairs

McPhillips.jpgAfter 10 years serving the Big "I," Jennifer McPhillips has been promoted to Big "I" vice president for federal government affairs.

McPhillips has climbed the ranks at the Big "I," previously serving as assistant vice president for federal government affairs and the top Democrat lobbyist for the association. Prior to that, she served as senior director of political affairs in charge of the Big "I" grassroots program and assisted with the management of InsurPac, the Big "I" political action committee. She first joined the Big "I" in 2006 after working for Rep. Leonard Boswell (D-Iowa).

"Over the years, Jen has served in a number of roles here at the Big 'I' and has excelled at all of them," says Charles Symington, Big "I" senior vice president for external and government affairs. "Most recently, she has worked on some of the association's most important legislative priorities including the NFIP and the Federal Crop Insurance Program. We are very proud of her accomplishments on behalf of our members and are confident that she will continue to do an excellent job representing independent insurance agents and brokers on Capitol Hill."

McPhillips, a native of Ridgewood, New Jersey, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in business management from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.
