Indiana Earns Third Consecutive Outstanding Young Agent Committee of the Year Award

IIABA Young Agents Committee Announces 2002 Award Winners at Leadership Conference



NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 20—The Young Agents Committee of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA) today presented its highest young agents accolade to the Young Agents Committee of the Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana (IIAI).

 

It marked the third consecutive year that the Indiana Young Agents Committee was honored as the Outstanding Young Agents Committee. The 2002 award was presented at IIABA’s 27th Annual Young Agents Leadership Conference held in conjunction with the New Orleans InfoXchange. The award recognizes the outstanding efforts made by a state young agents committee in the areas of political involvement, membership development, communications, committee project, and the young agents meeting as well as a committee’s promotion of the independent agency system.

 

“The dedicated young agents in Indiana have continued their tradition of making the most of the opportunity to impact the future of the independent agency system,” said IIABA President Thomas B. Ahart, CPCU, AAI. “We are pleased to recognize their remarkable efforts and likewise commend all young agent committees receiving awards today. They should take tremendous pride in their extraordinary contributions and achievements.”

 

The Young Agents Committee of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia was named Runner-Up in the Outstanding Young Agents Committee Award category and was also honored with an Outstanding Communications Award. Five other national awards of excellence recognizing the leadership of young agents committees in state associations were presented today:

 

Outstanding Political Involvement Award–

For outstanding achievement in Young Agent participation in the legislative process:

 

v      Young Agents Committee of the Independent Insurance Agents of Kentucky

 

Outstanding Young Agents Meeting Award–

For excellence in providing and promoting an annual Young Agent meeting:

 

v      Young Agents Committee of the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents

 

Outstanding State Committee Project–

For outstanding achievement in a state committee project that benefits the community, the insurance industry, and/or the Independent Agency System:

 

v      The NeXt Generation Insurance Professionals Committee of the Independent Insurance Agents Association of New York

 

Outstanding Membership Development Award–

For excellent achievement in recruiting and maintaining Young Agents participation in Association activities:

 

v      Young Agents Committee of the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina

 

Outstanding Communications Award–

For establishing and maintaining an excellent vehicle of communication for the Young Agents in a state:

 

v      Young Agents Committee of the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois

 

 

The Young Agents Leadership Conference precedes the New Orleans InfoXchange – IIABA’s showcase meeting featuring an exclusive reception and lunch for Trusted ChoiceSM agencies and company/strategic partners; a compelling company CEO panel; a wide variety of innovative continuing-education (CE) classes offering 19 CE credits; several prominent guest speakers; one of the largest exhibit halls in the insurance industry; numerous networking opportunities; and many other exciting events.
