Giuliani to Speak at September Big "I" Convention

GIULIANI TO SPEAK AT SEPTEMBER BIG “I” CONVENTION

Will address independent agents and brokers in New York

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 23—Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani will be the keynote speaker at the 2005 Big “I” Convention on Sept. 12 in New York City.

Giuliani, noted during his tenure (1993-2001) for fighting crime, revitalizing the city and displaying exemplary leadership in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, will speak on the theme of leadership at the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America’s annual event. Giuliani, often mentioned as a potential Republican presidential candidate, is also a noted speaker and author of a successful book, Leadership.

“We are thrilled and honored to have ‘America’s mayor,’ Rudy Giuliani, as the keynote speaker at our convention,” says Big “I” CEO Robert A. Rusbuldt. “In the wake of one of our nation’s darkest moments, Rudy Giuliani moved and inspired not just a city, but an entire nation, with his courage, his determination, his compassion, and most of all, his leadership. He knows what it means to inspire and motivate people in difficult times—in short, how to lead. His insights will not only be interesting and enjoyable, but also greatly useful to independent insurance agents and brokers and how they can lead, in their agencies and their communities, all over America.” Rusbuldt noted that Giuliani is an expert on risk assessment and management and that he knows the insurance and financial services industry very well.

The Big “I” Convention will take place Sept. 10-12 at the Hilton New York. In addition to the keynote address by Giuliani, Big “I” President Tom Grau notes that “the Convention will feature an array of thought-provoking and nationally recognized business speakers, industry-leading panelists and innovative insightful workshops. The Big ‘I’ Convention also will offer attendees the largest trade show in the insurance industry and numerous networking opportunities for agents and brokers as well as the many insurance company and industry representatives who will be attending the event.”

Additionally, insurance industry professionals and business partners can enhance their sales and management skills during the Best Practices Management Institute. Also, young agents and brokers from across the country will gather immediately before the Big “I” Convention—starting Sept. 9th—for the Young Agent Sales & Leadership Conference. During this event, young producers will learn the skills that will prepare them to assume leadership of their agencies and the independent agency system.
