Top Insurance Carrier CEOs to Address Big "I" Legislative Conference & Convention

(WASHINGTON – Jan. 27, 2009) – The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (the Big “I”) today announced the insurance carrier CEO panelists for their annual National Legislative Conference & Convention.

The insurance carrier CEO panel, which will take place in a general session, will allow the Big “I” membership to hear and participate in a discussion of some of the most important issues pressing independent insurance agents and the industry including: the state of our national economy, the economic challenges facing insurance carriers and the industry, the property-casualty insurance cycle, the TARP program, insurance regulatory reform, and other challenges and opportunities facing the independent agency system. The session will also include a state of the association address by Big “I” chairman Brett Nilsson and a speech by “Freakonomics” author Stephen Dubner.

The Big “I” annual Legislative Conference & Convention is the insurance industry’s best-attended, most effective legislative event of its kind. The events will take place April 29 through May 1 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Highlights of the Big “I” National Legislative Conference will include in-depth issues briefing sessions; appearances by numerous high-profile speakers discussing important insurance and national issues confronting lawmakers as well as agents and brokers; and hundreds of meetings on Capitol Hill between Big “I” agents and brokers and their elected representatives in the Congress.
