| Nearly 300 agents from 39 states registered for the Big "I" Diversity Task Force's Right Start Training Series, which launched last month. The four-part series provides an assortment of tools startup and developing agencies can use to increase their success in the independent agency channel. The one-hour live virtual training sessions include: - Understanding Your Agency's Operating Style (June 29)
- Employees – Your Key to Increased Productivity (July 20)
- Preparing for the Company Visit (August 24)
- Yearly Planning and Agency Goal Setting (September 14)
Registrants were required to complete a brief survey to participate in the training series. The survey found: 62% of the registered agencies have been in business for over 7 years - 91% of the agencies offer both personal and commercial lines
- Agency Revenue Size: 38% under $250K and 34% over $1 million
- Agency Staff Size: 31% have 1-2 employees, 26% have 3-5 employees, 43% 6 or more employees
- Participant Role within Agency: 136 Owners (46%), 43 Principals (15%), 80 Managers (27%), and 38 Producers (13%)
- Big "I" Membership Status: 163 Members (55%), 134 Non-Members or Uncertain (45%)
The survey also included an optional diversity question which had a 90% response rate. 42 people (16%) indicated they are a racial and/or ethnic minority, 69 people (26%) indicated they are under the age of 40, 114 people (43%) indicated they are women, and 1 person indicated they identify as LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer). The next Big "I" Diversity Task Force in person meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 20 in Chicago.
