Disasters, natural or otherwise, can hit any time and without notice. In response, the Agents Council for Technology (ACT) created a Disaster Planning Resource to help independent agents prepare employees, physical offices, data and systems with procedures to implement when disaster strikes.
The resource offers guidance on how to serve customers during their time of need without power, phone, internet and even without a physical office location. The document also gives agencies somewhere to document need-to-know information and includes a risk assessment to help determine individual business' definition of “disaster," which may vary based on location.
The next time you reach out to agencies about your disaster protocols, consider sharing the ACT Disaster Planning Resource.
