| Happy Thanksgiving from the team at Big "I" Markets! Thanksgiving is a time to gather together and give thanks for all the bounty in our lives. A day steeped in tradition, it is a time of love, peace, family and football. What could compare to a house full of family and friends around a meal that can last half a day? Did you know that Thanksgiving was held on the last Thursday in November until 1939, when Franklin Delano Roosevelt moved it back a week in order to spur more holiday shopping during the Great Depression? In 1941 he made it official by declaring Thanksgiving to fall on the fourth Thursday in November.
Speaking of schedule changes, as the winter holidays approach we want to make you aware of our upcoming holiday hours. This week, the Big "I" will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and on Friday, November 26. Please note that the offices of Big "I" Markets will also be closed from December 23 through December 27. We will also close at 3 p.m. ET on December 30 and re-open on Monday, January 3. Please plan accordingly, we are here to serve you!
Whether you have turkey,
turbaducken or
tofurkey we at Big "I" Markets hope you have a happy and safe Thanksgiving Day.
