Connect In the Classroom
When you visit an Invest classroom, you are able to teach students about insurance and introduce them to careers in the industry. By sharing your experience, you help students understand insurance and may provide the spark that makes a student decide a career in insurance is right for them. They will be better educated insurance shoppers and a few may wind up in your agency or company as trusted employees.
Guest speakers during an Invest class provide firsthand knowledge of what it’s like to work in the insurance industry, and students have a new appreciation for the industry after hearing a professional speak. Before you even enter the room, students are already happy to have someone other than their teacher speaking to them.
In addition, Invest provides all the materials needed to speak in a classroom, including PowerPoint presentations, classroom activities and discussion questions. Topics can include ratings, claims, what to look for in a policy, how you have succeeded in the industry or specific insurance roles, like investigations, underwriting or website development.
Connect In the Office
One of the best ways to introduce students to how the insurance industry works is to bring them to your office. Many schools offer job shadows or career days where students take field trips to visit the professional world. Students can shadow different professionals in your organization, tour your office and get a real feel for a day in the life of an insurance professional.
Invest can help with step-by-step guides to show you how to start an internship program or plan a job shadow day at your agency or company. The internship guide includes sample forms and explains expected responsibilities of students, teachers and your staff.
The guide has a planning calendar, an invitation to the teacher-student roster and job shadowing choices, along with a host position activity summary. Necessary release forms for consent, medical authorization, and a media release are also included.

Invest is a 501c-3 non-profit organization supported by financial contributions from insurance companies, foundations, and business professionals. We rely solely on tax-deductible contributions.
Invest brings insurance to the classroom, introducing students to risk management and careers in the industry. We are able to provide free education resources and materials because of the generous support of agencies, companies, nonprofits, and other organizations. Teachers have access to textbooks, industry software, lesson plans, presentations, games, and an eBook.
The benefits of Invest are far-reaching. Students gain knowledge about insurance, risk management and financial services, while teachers get the support they need to offer insurance classes focused on the real world. And our volunteers help to educate future insurance consumers, attract potential employees, promote their business, and provide valuable services to their own communities where they live and work.

We need more talent is a need echoed across the country by many in the insurance industry, but not everyone is listening. There is considerable room for growth with the Invest program nationally but we need your help!
Join us for live discussions with our national Invest team customized to help drive success within your current or future Invest program! If your school district or city doesn’t have an Invest program, take the first step and find out how you can help get one started.
Invest is very flexible and can accommodate any length class or timeline. While some programs are only two weeks for 60 minutes a day, other schools teach Invest for the entire school year. Our staff can help you determine how to incorporate the textbook, lesson plans and resources to best fit your needs.

Our high school program is best for 11th and 12th graders. We also have a college program for institutions interested in providing an insurance certificate or degree program.
Our program is free for schools, but insurance professionals who volunteer in the classroom can also use the materials at no cost.
We provide resources free through generous donations from insurance carriers, agencies and other organizations. Invest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
Invest has a variety of free resources to fit any teaching style or set-up. Textbooks (both hard copy and eBook), lesson plans, presentations, games, online activities, group activities, insurance rating software, videos and personality profiles for insurance careers are available to registered teachers.
If you’re interested in having local insurance professionals as guests, Invest can identify insurance agents and/or carrier representatives to speak to students on a variety of topics. In some areas, we’re able to organize multiple guest speakers each semester.
Once you decide to use the classroom materials, you receive an email with a user I-D and password to access the website resources. Getting started is easy. We look forward to working with you. Email us with any follow-up questions.
Promote Invest
Help us spread the word about Invest among industry professionals, so more volunteers get involved and reach more students. Invest has flyers, ads and other resources to make it easy to share the Invest story with your peers.
