Active Members
Active AWIA membership is open to agents and employees of independent agencies upon application. An independent agency is defined as one representing multiple insurance companies and that solicits business on its own behalf, with autonomy over its operations and personnel. Active members receive association communications, may participate in association events and meetings, have the right to vote, hold office, and display the official AWIA logo.
Member Benefits
AWIA membership offers lots of member benefits. In addition, you are also a member of two national organizations – the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America and the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents – that work specifically on behalf of independent insurance agents and brokers. Member benefits include Errors & Omissions Insurance, Agency Insurance, Educational Benefits, Legislative & Lobbying Efforts, Information Resources, Market & Placement Assistance and much more. That’s three memberships in one!
Our work benefits all independent insurance agents in Wyoming. Your membership adds your voice to our efforts and helps make our work possible. AWIA dues are based on the total number of persons working who work twenty (20) hours or more per week in the insurance business for your agency, including licensed and unlicensed personnel.
Other Membership Options
Associate Membership
An Associate membership is available to any individual, partnership, or corporation engaged in selling insurance as a direct writer or captive agent. Associate members receive communications and may participate in corporate meetings, but are not eligible to vote or hold office.
Affiliate Membership
An Affiliate membership is available to any insurance company, supplier, or individual that is affiliated with the American Agency System. Affiliate members receive mailings and may attend corporate meetings but are not entitled to vote or hold office.
AWIA Partnership Program
Are you interested in connecting with AWIA member agents? Become a partner today! AWIA Partnership is open to insurance carriers and vendors that serve the independent agency system. AWIA Partners at the Bronze Level and above automatically become an Affiliate Member as part of their partnership.
