Charles Symington, Big “I” president & CEO, extends his service on the ACORD board of directors for 2026.
ACORD, the global standards-setting body for the insurance industry, announced its 2026 board today. Consisting of 18 members, including seven new directors, the board will be chaired by Robert Kelly, founder, managing director and CEO, Steadfast Group Limited; with Kevin Tobin, outside director, ACORD, serving as vice chair.
“As the global insurance industry faces transformative shifts, both in technology and talent, ACORD remains committed to serving, engaging with and listening to its members,” said Tanya Krochta, executive vice president, chief operating officer and acting CEO of ACORD. “Our new and returning board members represent a diversity of viewpoints and experience that will ensure our members, and the industry as a whole, are prepared for the future.”
Symington joined the Big “I” in 2004 on the government affairs staff and has been president and CEO since 2023. He has been regularly recognized by The Hill newspaper as a top lobbyist in Washington, D.C., and has been a key leader in many industry coalitions on Capitol Hill, advocating on issues important to Big “I” members.
“I am honored to return to the ACORD board for another year to work with other leaders to navigate the evolving trends and challenges impacting the industry,” Symington says. “I’m proud to continue to be a voice for independent agents on how industry standards can support their crucial role in insurance distribution.”
