With 58 years in the insurance industry, John Putnam has held roles as a Claims Representative, Systems Analyst, P&C Agent, and Independent Agency Owner. A licensed Property & Casualty agent in Colorado for 44 years, he now works as a semi-retired consultant, broker, and educator, teaching insurance continuing education courses.
John has been instrumental in wildfire recovery efforts, assisting survivors of the Waldo Canyon, Black Forest, and Marshall Fires with claims and recovery guidance. His expertise extends to non-coastal flood risks and innovative coverage solutions.
John’s leadership includes serving as President of the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Colorado, National Director of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, and Director of Pinnacol Insurance. He also contributes quarterly wildfire-related commentaries to IRMI.
