First Friday Call: Membership Renewals

Big “I” state association leaders are invited to kick off October with another interactive First Friday call tomorrow, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. ET. First Friday calls aren’t just another meeting—they’re collaborative, casual sessions where state marketing and communications professionals come together to tackle membership, marketing and fundraising strategies.

Tomorrow we’re focusing on membership renewals. Renewals aren’t just a quick sprint at the end of the year—they’re a marathon. The way we communicate value all year long can make or break renewal season.

Join us on Microsoft Teams at 11 a.m. ET on Oct. 3:

  • Meeting ID: 213 996 750 378
  • Passcode: 9dE37yE9

We’ll dive into:

  • What renewal messaging and timing are working best.
  • How segmentation, automation and personalization are being used.
  • Bundling events, continuing education (CE) and perks into renewal campaigns.
  • Win-back strategies for lapsed members.
  • How states are promoting and integrating national resources into their own renewal stories.

Bring your challenges, your wins and any sample materials you’d like to share for an interactive, idea-filled session. If you’d like to submit a question in advance, please email Susie Bonner.

Here are three questions to think about before the call:

  • How early do you start renewal communications?
  • What’s one piece of messaging that’s resonated with your members?
  • How are you weaving in national Big “I” resources to help tell the membership value story?

Anyone on your state association team is welcome to attend—so feel free to forward the invite.
