Reminder: Review Carrier Appointments Ahead of September Renewals

As carriers begin reviewing and renewing appointments for September, we encourage our Big I SC members to take a few minutes to verify that:

• All agency personnel who perform activities requiring a producer license are properly licensed.
• All licensed personnel acting on behalf of a carrier are appointed with that carrier.
• Appointment fees are being paid by the carrier and not passed on to the agency.

To check individual producer appointments, view NAIC State-Based Systems License Manager and complete the requested information. Appointments are listed at the bottom under the Continuing Education information.

Maintaining proper appointments is an important part of regulatory compliance and helps protect both the agency and its employees from potential licensing issues or regulatory penalties.
