ACT Launches New Strategic Focus

The Big “I” Agents Council for Technology (ACT) celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. The program has always focused on helping independent agents understand and utilize technology—and moving into 2025 and beyond, ACT has a new strategic focus to accomplish that mission.

At the Ivans Connect conference in September, ACT gathered industry stakeholders—technology providers, carriers and agencies—and discussed the four key pillars that have become the foundation for ACT’s initiative: data, connectivity, artificial intelligence, and people and culture.

Roundtable discussions explored how each of these pillars impact the industry, including the challenges and opportunities they present to each stakeholder group. The output from these conversations has been compiled into ACT’s “Letters to the Industry.”

ACT has also refocused its work group model on these emerging pillars. Work groups comprised of individuals from technology providers, carriers and agencies will meet virtually throughout the year to discuss technology issues facing independent agencies and provide resources and guidance.

ACT’s initial letter to the industry was featured in the November issue of Independent Agent magazine. Additional letters that focus on each of the four pillars will be released in the coming months.

Members are invited to participate in these work groups and can learn more on the ACT webpage
