Chubb Helps Boaters Prepare for Hurricane Season

Climate experts at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration continue to predict active Atlantic hurricane seasons in the years ahead, which could include several named storms with the potential to become major hurricanes. These predictions reinforce the importance of preparation for boaters in hurricane-prone regions.

The marine community should take proactive measures to minimize the potential for injuries and damage to their boats and other property. Big “I” Markets partner Chubb offers a list of tips to help recreational boaters protect their vessels and other property on board during hurricane season. Review the list to learn what precautions boaters can take to prepare and safeguard their vessels this season, and feel free to present the flyer to your clients.

Remember: Key factors in protecting a boat during a hurricane or any severe storm include planning and timely action. Also make sure your clients have proper insurance coverage in place—and that they understand the policy and duties as a boat owner.

Most Chubb policies offer hurricane haul-out coverage included at no additional charge. Chubb Recreational Marine has been one of the nation's leading providers of yacht and boat insurance for decades, offering an array of policies for a wide range of pleasure craft. Chubb serves owners of the entire spectrum of boats, from small runabouts and cruisers to the largest yachts. The Yachtsman®/Boatsman® policy provides all-risk protection for both pleasure boats and yachts, including select occasional charter opportunities, along with many unique benefits and features.
