Current ACT Executive Director Jeff Yates, will retire in February 2014 at which point, Ron Berg will be named the executive director for the technology forum.

The Big “I” Diversity Task Force and the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) participated in a service project at an elementary school in New Orleans, La. in honor of the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Future One, the task force that provides valuable research and advocacy on behalf of the independent agency system, is preparing for the 2014 Future One Agency Universe Study. The collaborative efforts of companies, independent agents and brokers and the Big “I” are what make this research so valuable.
The Agents Council for Technology’s Strategic Future Issues Workgroup has completed step one in a two-step process by identifying technology trends that will change the way independent insurance agents and carriers do business.
Make an immediate difference in the perpetuation of the independent agency system-- donate to the InVEST Silent Auction. The annual auction raises funds to help InVEST graduates who want to pursue a career in insurance. InVEST is a 501(c)(3) educational foundation , with programs in 450 schools, that teaches students about insurance and financial services.
Each year, the Young Agents programs offer two opportunities for young insurance professionals from all over the U.S. to connect in person. The attendees of these events are the industry’s best and brightest.
The Big “I” and its industry partners continue to gear up for reauthorization of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA), as expiration of the program fast approaches on Dec. 31, 2014. Debate over the future of the TRIA program promises to be a top property-casualty issue for the remainder of this Congress.
