Since 1999, AUGIE and ACT have been working to bring together agents, carriers, and solution providers to discuss the automation needs for independent insurance agents. We work closely but take different approaches to helping agents.
Using work group volunteers from Big I member agencies and ACT Supporting Member carrier and technology providers, ACT provides practical tools and education to help independent agencies leverage technology to enable their strategies. They create
information and resources in areas like understanding emerging technology
trends, ways to enhance the customer experience with ease-of-doing-business processes, explanations of ever-changing cyber security
concerns, disaster planning guides and much more. All of ACT’s resources are available at no
cost to Big I member agencies.
For those of you less familiar with AUGIE, here are some FAQ's:
Where does AUGIE focus? AUGIE takes a tactical approach to solving agency issues with technology, creating opportunities for them to write more business and be more efficient. Recently, AUGIE has been doing a lot of work around getting more carriers and agencies to use download and emerging technologies specific to personal and commercial lines, as well as introducing the new and much-needed role of the technology advocate within agencies. And because problem-solving is key to AUGIE's role, we encourage agents to bring any issues and ideas forward for the group to consider.
What does AUGIE stand for? Actually, it doesn't stand for anything anymore. 😁 At one time, it was an acronym. Even while the words are no longer relevant, the name is familiar within the industry.
Who runs/owns AUGIE? AUGIE is a volunteer-run organization. Anyone can join. It's led by an executive council comprised of representatives of agent-focused industry organizations including vendor groups, associations, and agent networks.
