PRESIDENT BUSH TO SPEAK AT BIG “I” NATIONAL LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE
WASHINGTON, D.C., April 15, 2005—President George W. Bush will address more than 1,000 independent insurance agents and brokers Thursday, April 21, at the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America’s (the Big “I”) National Legislative Conference.
The President will address the urgent need to modernize our Social Security system for our children and our grandchildren.

Rusbuldt. “This President understands the issues confronting Main Street America. He knows that small business owners drive the economy through job creation and business expansion. President Bush is the fifth president to address the Big “I.” Presidents Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton also addressed the Big “I.”
“President Bush has a pro-Main Street America agenda that will continue to promote economic security, retirement security, and national security for independent agents and brokers, their employees, and all Americans,” says Rusbuldt.
Highlights of the Big “I” National Legislative Conference will include an in-depth issues briefing session; the annual Big “I” congressional reception on Capitol Hill; appearances by numerous high-profile speakers; and hundreds of meetings on Capitol Hill between Big “I” agents and brokers and their elected representatives in the Congress.
Other prominent political leaders speaking to agents and brokers at the Big “I” event are Senate Majority Whip Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), a leading voice among moderates in the Senate. Additionally, House Chief Deputy Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) will address the Big “I” Insiders’ Luncheon on Tuesday, April 19.
