The number of lawsuits alleging discriminatory website access nearly tripled from 2017 to 2018, with settlements and required website updates costing tens of thousands of dollars. ACT, in conjunction with the Big “I” national general counsel, has released an FAQ memo to help agencies understand ADA compliance requirements. It is reprinted here for your convenience and provides some actions you can implement in the near term. Additionally, ACT is currently focusing on the Americans with Disabilities Act within our ‘Security Issues’ Work Group, and we will have a dedicated session that breaks down the ADA at our upcoming ACT Meeting in Cincinnati.
