Big “I” Markets Introduces New Product for Engineers

Partnership with ACEC serves the special needs of America’s engineering community.

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 23, 2010 — The Independent Agents & Brokers of America Big “I” Markets program today announced a partnership with the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) to provide Big “I” members with exclusive access to the ACEC Business Insurance Program.

The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) represents more than 5,500 firms throughout the country. The ACEC mission is to contribute to America's prosperity and welfare by advancing the business interests of member firms.

“Engineers and the firms they work for have insurance exposures unique to their industry that require specialized coverages,” says Gary Heiligman, Big “I” Advantage associate vice president. “Big ‘I’ Markets is proud to offer exclusive access to the ACEC Business Insurance Program which provides business insurance and professional liability insurance to ACEC members.”

The ACEC Business Insurance Program is endorsed by the ACEC national organization as well as its 51 state and regional councils. Participation in the programs offered by the ACEC Business Insurance Program is exclusive to ACEC members.

“Since making its national debut in July 2002, Big ‘I’ Markets has grown from under 300 sub-producing agencies to more than 5,300 sub-producing agencies representing more than 18,000 licensed sub-producers today, and Big I Markets is still growing,” says Robert Rusbuldt, Big “I” president & CEO. “This new partnership with ACEC is great news for our members and further demonstrates the valuable resources this program provides.”

ACEC is a federation of 51 state and regional councils representing much of America's engineering industry. ACEC member firms employ hundreds of thousands of engineers, architects, land surveyors, scientists and other specialists, responsible for more than $200 billion of private and public works annually. Member firms range in size from a single registered professional engineer to corporations employing thousands of professionals.
