Multicultural and Diversity Marketing Expert to Address Big “I”

Kelly McDonald to keynote April 11 event to discuss how to better market to diverse customers.

Kelly McDonald.gifALEXANDRIA, Va., March 28, 2014 — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”) today announced that Kelly McDonald, president of McDonald Marketing, will address the Big “I” membership on Friday, April 11, at 8:00 a.m.
 
Kelly McDonald, author of "How to Market to People Not Like You” and the newly released “Crafting the Customer Experience for People Not Like You,” will share her expertise on multicultural and diverse marketing. McDonald has been featured by numerous media outlets including CNBC, BusinessWeek, CNNMoney and Sirius/XM Radio. She is currently working with the Big “I” and its Diversity Task Force to create an agency force that reflects, represents and capitalizes on the diverse population in our country today. McDonald is a renowned expert and noted speaker on issues related to targeting multicultural markets, increasing awareness on diversity issues and leadership.

The Diversity Task Force, which is hosting the forum, is a cooperative industry group comprised of Big “I” agents and brokers, members of groups representing Latin-American, African-American and Asian-American agents and 10 leading insurance companies.
 
The Big “I” Legislative Conference is the insurance industry’s best-attended, most effective legislative meeting. Other highlights of the Big “I” Legislative Conference include in-depth issues briefing sessions; appearances by numerous high-profile speakers discussing important insurance and national issues confronting lawmakers as well as agents and brokers and hundreds of meetings on Capitol Hill between Big “I” agents and brokers and their elected representatives in the Congress.
