WASHINGTON, D.C., April 10, 2014 —The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”) yesterday presented numerous awards at the Annual Young Agents & InsurPac State Chairpersons Legislative Luncheon. The event was held during the annual Big “I” Legislative Conference.

The event featured a keynote address by Rep. Steve Stivers (R-Ohio) and the presentation of the annual InsurPac National Championship awards, Young Agent of the Year and Eagle awards. The 2013 winners are:

InsurPac National Championship Award – North Carolina: This award goes to the state whose agents contribute the most money for InsurPac in a calendar year. Collectively, North Carolina agents contributed more than $67,000.

InsurPac Young Agent Award: The 2013 winner is Jill Roth of Virginia.

“This year’s InsurPac young agent of the year, Jill Roth, lit a fire in her state of Virginia,” said Mike Larges, InsurPac committee chair, who presented the award. “Jill blazed a trail in the Old Dominion and motived others to get involved. She’s truly passionate about political involvement and has the unique perspective of working on Capitol Hill first. Her dedication to raising InsurPac money and passion for political involvement will inspire Virginia’s young agent program for years to come.”

Roth is executive vice president marketing at the Ahart, Frinzi and Smith Agency in Alexandria, Va. She previously worked for Rep. Scott Garrett (R-N.J.). Roth earned a bachelor’s degree at George Mason University.

“Thousands of Big ‘I’ agents, including so many outstanding young agents, have worked tirelessly to make InsurPac the largest property-casualty political action committee in the country,” says Charles E. Symington, Jr., Big “I” senior vice president for external and government affairs. “The next generation of Big ‘I’ leaders has already shown to be dedicated to the success of the association’s PAC and was instrumental in helping InsurPac surpass the $1 million mark in 2013.”
