The Big “I” Celebrates ACSR Tribute Day

New Jersey agent named ACSR of the year.

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 23, 2011 — Today marks the annual ACSR Tribute Day in honor of the graduates of the Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) program, a joint effort of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”) and The Institutes.

“On a day that recognizes the important contributions of agency customer service representatives, the Big ‘I’ is proud to name Angela Kneser of Budd Agency, Inc. in Phillipsburg, N.J. ACSR of the Year,” says Madelyn Flannagan, Big “I” vice president of agent development, education and research. “Angela’s professionalism and commitment to continuing education and customer service make her a true industry role model.”

Kneser joined the Budd Agency, Inc. team in 1998 and has worked in the insurance industry since 1986. She earned her ACSR designation in 1992. She stood out among the excellent pool of candidates for the ACSR of the Year honor because she consistently goes beyond the call of duty. Recommendation letters for the award highlighted her professionalism, people skills and commitment to excellent customer service. Kneser was also selected for her exemplary contributions to her agency by offering the knowledge and confidence that produces the trust of her clients and reducing the chance of agency Errors and Omissions (E&O) losses by setting the office standards.

“We encourage agencies to celebrate and recognize outstanding ACSR employees like Angela Kneser,” says Robert Rusbuldt, Big “I” president & CEO. “The personalized service of a CSR can be the differentiating factor for consumers who have many insurance buying options. CSRs demonstrate their commitment to the agency and its clients by earning the ACSR designation.”

The ACSR program is a nationally recognized designation that provides participants with a strong insurance foundation, customer service skills and the technical knowledge necessary to succeed in today’s agency environment. Nearly 15,000 agents and brokers have achieved the ACSR designation, which is available in personal lines, commercial lines or life/health. ACSR modules have been approved in many states for continuing education credit for agents’ license renewal.

Founded in 1896, the Big “I” is the nation’s oldest and largest national association of independent insurance agents and brokers, representing a network of more than 300,000 agents, brokers and their employees nationally. Its members are businesses that offer customers a choice of policies from a variety of insurance companies. Independent agents and brokers offer all lines of insurance—property, casualty, life and health—as well as employee benefit plans and retirement products.
